Pre-Build Iterations

  • Models for the Sci-fi Engine Room were created in 3DS Max and arranged in the approximate placement of where they would reside when imported to the Unreal Engine.
  • In order to cut down on level building time, Tom Shannon's "TS Tools" plugin was used to export assets with their position and rotations into Unreal Engine 4.

Assets

  • The models shown to the left are all the assets used in the Environment. 
  • Assets were created in using a specific scale in order to snap to one another and fit together.

Texturing

  • Texturing was achieved using a combination of tileable textures, utilizing Material IDs, and decals.
  • Substance Painter, Photoshop, and the Quixel Suite were all used in combination in order to create the textures.
  • Photoshop brush set from Zane Bien were used to help create the interfaces on the computer consoles.
